And here's the second release on Distant Noise which comes from one of my personal favourites... Televise. Following a superb release on Drifting Falling and the original band album on Club AC30, Simon has put together another gorgeous collection of guitar- and electronic-based tracks. Peaceful, serene and, at times, soaring sounds that have that lightly shoegazey feel (sorry, I hate saying that to be honest, but it does make sense) and a wonderfully realised sense of melodic pace. I think these are quite possibly my favourite tracks by him so far as the whole things flows effortlessly. A brilliant release then and another string in the bow of Distant Noise. Class

I'm thrilled to be able to bring you the first release on Tarl Ashman's (aka Innerise) Distant Noise label. This debut release comes from Luga and it's an absolutely spot on blend of melodic music that manages to sound electronica, as well as textural and even shoegazey. There are some seriously uplifting moments of soaring soundscape mixed with delicately crunchy beats and a robust sense of melody that carries thewhole thing through in style. One to enjoy whilst letting the sounds wash over you. I like this a lot and it's a spankingly good start for the label. Top.

Tarl Broad-Ashman's sound is one of depth, beauty and a nod to the old school shoegazing days and it's really nice to have manaed to get some copies of this excellent CDr release from make Mine Music. Referencing bands like My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and Seefeel whilst keeping a defiantly electronica feel to the sounds and beats works a treat and there's a melancholy, beautiful feeling throughout that's just drippping with atmosphere. The female vocal elements are delivered with feeling and they have that lovely distant, echoing quality to them that gives more of an instrumental feel than a lyrical one... they seamlessly meld into the music but have a tangible feel as well. Fans of the label and bands such as Windy & Carl or the aformentioned ones above should find this to be a very pleasing work indeed. Gorgeous stuff and just right for this sunny morning.
